Jango Shay

Jango Shay, a cherished Tabby cat, passed away on September 12, 2025, at the age of 15. Jango found his human dad, Shawn, through his human mom. He was the last of his litter in need of a home. The Mandalorian skull-shaped marking and his fur between his shoulders, along with the way he held his paw out when called, earned him his forever family.

Jango enjoyed watching television, particularly iCarly. His favorite hobby was chasing tin foil balls, and crab treats were among his favorite indulgences. Jango also had a unique quirk, he allowed only his human dad to touch his stomach, a privilege extended to no one else.

He would sleep beside his human dad, and if his dad was sick, Jango remained by his side until he was better, even if it meant missing a meal. A memorable moment was when Jango’s human dad cut himself while opening Jango’s first food bowl and litter box, Jango sat in his lap as he tended to the cut.

Jango shared meaningful relationships with his human dad, Shawn Shay, and other family members including Aiden Oehme, Taylor Oehme, Aerin Oehme, and Antoinette Oehme. His presence brought warmth and joy to the household he so faithfully watched over.

Jango will be remembered for the comfort he provided, the loyalty he displayed, and the gentle spirit that defined his years. His absence leaves an irreplaceable space in the lives of those who loved him, and his memory will continue to be cherished.
